Jakarta (ANTARA News) – Broadcasting practitioner Chalil Fadli said the increase in the number of technological devices or “gadgets“especially smart cell phones are increasing the number of radio listeners.
“Especially young people, because they can enjoy radio anywhere using a smartphone,” said Chalil after the motorbike handover ceremony for the winners of the Hitz FM radio quiz in Jakarta, Wednesday.
So with the increasing number of smart phones, there are more and more radio listeners. Currently, radio can be heard through various media such as manual and online (internet).
However, Chalil could not provide an increase in radio listenership in recent years.
He also saw that currently, there is still a lack of radio specifically for young people. Even though the population of young people who listen to radio is very large.
“That’s why when Hitz FM started operating in November 2014, many young people became our listeners.”
It targets to attract at least 2 million young listeners in 2015.
“So far, there have been a lot of digital interactions with us,” he said.
Chalil also added that his party was holding more quizzes to attract radio listeners. The radio, which has a frequency of 96.70 FM, offers music for 24 hours.
