Jakarta (ANTARA News) – Psychologist Annelia Sari Sani said that children who like playing with gadgets are generally skilled at sorting out information that appears in cyberspace.
“Quickly choose what he needs and what he doesn’t,” said Annelia during the HiLo discussion “Tips for Stimulating Children to Grow Healthy & Smart in the Digital Era”, Thursday.
When looking for information on a search engine, children tend to quickly sort the information because they are used to it and know what kind of information they need.
Games on gadgets can also help children make decisions, said Annelia.
If he gets used to it, he may be able to make decisions quickly compared to children who don’t play with gadgets.
Apart from that, according to Annelia, certain types of games can also improve children’s visual-motor coordination abilities.
Parents, who must remain present when their children are using devices, can also teach communication and socializing through these devices.
However, continued Annelia, social communication in the real world is still needed to hone emotions and foster empathy in children.
For example, teach children to recognize what it feels like to unfollow a friend in the real world.
