Jakarta (ANTARA) – Microsoft announced that it will present Windows Subsystem applications in five countries by the end of 2022, namely France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the UK.
Previously, the service was available exclusively in the United States in early 2022.
Quoting XDA Developers, Thursday, the presence of the Windows subsystem for Android was announced at the same time as the launch of Windows 11 on June 24 2021.

Although Android apps are officially only available in the United States, installing Windows Subsystem for Android is relatively easy if you’re in another country.
If you change the regional settings in Windows, you can easily get it from the Microsoft Store.
This announcement means Android apps will be more accessible to more users, meaning higher adoption overall.
If the platform becomes more popular, more applications will likely come, making the platform overall more useful.
Microsoft also mentioned that Windows Subsystem for Android is now running version 12.1 of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), which is equivalent to Android 12L. However, this isn’t entirely new, as this update rolled out to Windows Insiders last week.
