Jakarta (ANTARA) – Android, the operating system for cellphones and tablets made by Google, is known to currently have the most users in the world.
Based on the GlobalStats StatCounter survey, in 2022 alone the Android market share in the world will reach 72.44 percent, far surpassing iOS which is only 26.75 percent.
Since its first appearance 15 years ago on smartphones, Android has introduced many features.
It is recently reported that Android will bring a simple but much-needed feature for its users, namely separating the volume control options for phone calls and notifications.

Quoting GSM Arena, Monday, currently Google has tried this feature in the trial version of Android 13 QPR3, whose operating system is aimed at application developers.
In previous versions, it is known that in the sound and vibration settings, there were only four options offered by Android, namely the “Media Volume”, “Call Volume”, “Ring and Notification Volume”, and “Alarm Volume” settings.
For the latest trial version for application developers, Android now separates “Ring Volume” and “Notification Volume” so that there will be five setting options for sound and vibration.

In this way, users can set call notifications to not sound when they are indoors without needing to turn off other notification sounds such as for chat and other applications.
In simple terms, this means that users can still hear the chime or beep sound when an application provides a notification.
However, users can also deactivate the ringtone sound when there is an incoming call, or vice versa.
This feature may be coming soon either in the updated version of Android 13 or in the latest version, namely Android 14.
The Android 14 operating system is predicted to be revealed at the Google I/O event on May 10 2023.
