Ulefone has just released the Power Armor 16S as its new”Super Loud Volume” rugged smartphone – however, Oukitel is now effectively trolling it with new teasers for a rival with an even more powerful speaker (on paper, at least).
The WP36 is slated to upgrade to 128 decibel (dB) sound, thereby beating even its own predecessor the WP22 at 125dB. Up to 3.5W”8D Stereo Sound System” is strategically placed at the center of the smartphone’s rear camera hump, with accents that make it look more like a Nubia Z-series flagship.
Oukitel’s next rugged smartphone is also backed to act as an emergency power bank thanks to its 10,600mAh battery with reverse charging, thereby narrowly outdoing its Ulefone rival. Then again, its rear camera is 13MP, compared to 50MP in the Power Armor 16S.
Both smartphones are listed as 16GB RAM devices – however, this is only due to a “virtual RAM extender” feature, as they both have 8GB out of the box. Then again, the WP36 will have the larger (albeit HD+) display at launch at 6.52 inches – to be driven by the literally anonymous MediaTek MT8788 processor.
The new”adventure“-ready Oukitel WP36 is set to debut alongside the RT8 tablet on April 5, 2024.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
